Meet The Doctors

  • Dr-Dirk-Graves
    Dr. Dirk Graves, O.D.

    Dr. Dirk Graves was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  He attended the University of South Dakota, and graduated in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry.  He received his master’s degree in 1994.  In 1999, he graduated with his doctorate degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.  He joined the Family Vision team in early 2002, coming along side Dr. Blaettler and Dr. Randall Baughman.

    Dr. Graves enjoys helping patients and has a strong interest in glaucoma, dry eye disease, pediatric vision care and sports vision performance.  Outside of the office, he has served in the the Williamston Lion’s Club, Piedmont Optometric Society, and is a member of the American Optometric Association.  

    He and his wife, Jennifer, have three children.  When he isn’t working he sometimes wishes he was playing golf, but when he does play golf, he wishes he was at work helping patients!

  • Dr Randall Baughman
    Dr. Randall Baughman, O.D.

    Dr. Randall Baughman is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio.  After undergraduate studies at both Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Baughman earned his Doctor of Optometry degree at The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1982.

    Dr. Baughman started his Optometry career as a medical missionary in Mombasa, Kenya and is fluent in Swahili.  He served there for more than five years and worked with and learned from more than twenty U.S. Ophthalmologists who came for short-term mission trips.  From 1988 to 1999, Dr. Baughman worked in Southern Illinois, joining three Ophthalmologists.  He joined the Family Vision practice in 1999.  In 2004, he received the Silver Award from The Laser Eye Centers for achieving excellence in refractive surgery eye care.  He brings more than 35 years of experience of quality comprehensive eye examinations and prescriptions for eyewear and contact lenses.

    He and his wife Nancy love spending time with their family. They have three sons, one daughter and five grandsons.  In his free time,  Dr. Baughman enjoys tennis, golf and fly fishing. 

  • Dr DJ Morris
    Dr. DJ Morris, O.D.

    Dr. DJ Morris was born and raised in Seneca, South Carolina.  He attended the University of South Carolina before receiving his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Optometry in 2016.  While attending Optometry school, he served as President of the Sports Vision Club, as well as a University Ambassador.   Upon graduating from UABSO, he was awarded both the Goodlite Pediatric Excellence Award and the 2016 Alabama Optometric Association Leadership Award.  He joined the Family Vision team in 2016.

    Dr. Morris is the praise and worship leader at O’Zion Baptist Church.  He is also a member of the Tri-County Technical College Board of Visitors.  He spends the majority of his free time working out or tutoring students.  Dr. Morris enjoys traveling and has recently fallen in love with cruising around the world.  He has one child, his black lab pup named Gary.

  • Nicholas
    Dr. Nicholas Baughman, O.D.

    Dr. Nicholas Baughman grew up in Greenville, South Carolina.  He graduated from Clemson University in December of 2011 with a BS degree in Biological Science.  He then received his Doctorate of Optometry degree while attending the University of Alabama of Birmingham School of Optometry.  Dr. Baughman did an externship at the Eye Foundation of Utah and with an Ophthalmologist in London, KY where he focused on Glaucoma and Dry Eye Disease.  

    Dr. Baughman joined the Family Vision team in the summer of 2016.  He served as the President of the Piedmont Optometric Society in 2018-2019.  He enjoys going on medical mission trips, his most recent trip was to Costa Rica.  

    Outside of eye care, Dr. Baughman loves spending time with his wife, Kathryn and their three sons, Luke, Andrew and Parker and one Brittany Spaniel named 'Chipper'.  He likes to stay active playing sports like tennis, golf and softball.  He is an avid baseball fan, pulling for his Atlanta Braves.  During the fall, you will most likely find him cheering on his Clemson Tigers!

  • Dr Jarrod Griffis
    Dr. Jarrod Griffis, O.D.

    Dr. Jarrod Griffis was born and raised in Southeast Georgia where he attended Georgia Southern University, earning his BS degree in chemistry, while minoring in music technology.  Immediately after, he began Optometry school in Memphis, Tennessee at Southern College of Optometry, where he would earn his Doctorate of Optometry in May of 2017.  He completed his externships at Georgia Eye Partners Opthalmology Group in Atlanta, Georgia and Professional Eye Care, a private practice in Statesboro, Georgia.  

    Dr. Griffis has traveled to Central American countries such as Haiti and Nicaragua to provide Optometric aid while sharing the Gospel.

    Dr. Griffis loves spending time with his wife, Dr. Megan Griffis, who is a pediatric resident in Greenville, South Carolina.  Together they enjoy hiking, playing board games, exquisite foods, gardening and exploring new cities.  They are expecting a baby girl in March, 2020 and are excited to be first time parents.  In his spare time, you can find Dr. Griffis remodeling their house, refurbishing older electronics, napping with their cats at home, or playing drum set at his local church.
