Consultation
If you are considering contact lenses, the first thing you should do is schedule a consultation with your eye doctor. During this consultation, the doctor will be able to discuss with you the different types of contact lenses available and which will be best for you. The type of contact lens you choose will be dependent on a few different factors. You can choose from soft lenses, silicone hydrogel, gas permeable, and hybrid lenses. The eye doctor will review how each type differs. Your choice of lenses will be dependent on your vision needs and your personal preferences.
Eye Measurements
Your eyes will be measured to ensure that your new contact lenses fit well. Your lenses must fit just right. Poor-fitting contacts can be both uncomfortable and damaging to your eyes. You must follow up with your eye doctor if you feel that your new contacts are not fitting right.
